were principally
involved in the
design direction of
the public domain
and playground
from the initial
master planning
stage through to
construction.
Darling Harbour has been
upgraded and reconnected to
the heart of the city. This is a
significant public legacy both for
Sydney locals and tourists visiting
our city. The playground, which
is the centrepiece of the public
domain upgrades, is a highly
unique design which integrates
an innovative waterplay space into
the public domain.

SPACES
The strength of the design and
uniqueness is also in the sum
of its parts; the playground at
the centre is open until into
the night, purpose built kiosk,
toilet and shade canopies, a
new children's theatre, new
areas of lawn for lunching and
recreation, and new retail with
food and bars lining the edge of a
new pedestrian boulevard.
All of these placemaking
elements create the right
recipe for what will be a
uniquely successful and active
public domain.
