Shoreline House & Land Magazine February 2021

least one big garbage bag at a time. Wardrobe warfare Most of us, if we’re honest have plenty of items in our cupboards that we rarely wear, and which could be sent to the op-shop instead. One clever trick to identify these is to hang all your clothes with the hangers in the reverse direction. Whenever you wear something, return it with the hanger the right way round. After six months you’ll be easily able to tell which clothes to keep and which to donate. Upcycling great memories Almost any item can be upcycled into something new and improved with just a little bit of work, and doing so can help you save serious cash at a time when you need it the most. There are so many great ideas, you could paint a piece of furniture to create a statement piece for your new lounge, spray paint pots so they all match or frame some fabric from an old piece that is going to the tip. Upcycling is kind to the wallet, and is more environmentally friendly too! Spotlight on new owners Q: What inspired you to purchase at Shoreline? A: Kris: We like being close to the coast and being in a community that’s going to start from scratch was really appealing to us. Leslie: I think once Shoreline develops and people move in, and the lifestyle becomes apparent, the parklands are set up, the cafes and the people that make it, I think it’s going to become it’s very own brand new lifestyle area. We’re very excited about it. Q: What are you looking forward to the most about moving to Shoreline? A: Leslie: We’re looking forward to being on the ground floor of a brand-new area. We see a time when it’s going to be quite a productive and quite a busy little community. Q: At Shoreline, you can choose your builder. So who did you choose to build with? A: Leslie: JKW Constructions. Kris: We’re going to have a two storey with a lot of features in it. Obviously with the two-storey, we look at possibly getting a view with that which is going to be really exciting. Leslie: We’re at the time of our lives where we want something a little more luxurious as well so we’re getting a purpose-built study, a “man cave” for Kris, the pool and all those other nice things. It’s going to be a step up for us. Thanks for the chat Kris and Leslie. We can’t wait to welcome you to Shoreline. We recently sat down with new owners at Shoreline, Kris and Leslie to chat about why they decided to make the move to Shoreline and what they’re most excited about.
