The Active Breaks school holiday programs are perfect for getting the kids off the couch and running, jumping, skipping or stretching outdoors. Active Parks programs include yoga at Spring Lake Park (Saturdays 9.30am). Note that these are only run during school terms. Springfield Police Officer in Charge, Ben MacKenzie, recently hosted a community meeting with Springfield residents to discuss local crime trends and the possibility of a local NHW committee forming. The NHW program is a pro-active way to bring the community together to encourage reporting community concerns – not always crimes. Sundown Park now open A perfect place for family fun, Sundown Park features a BMX track which will eventually connect into the adjacent White Rock-Spring Mountain Conservation Estate’s Yaddamun Trail, as well as a shaded playground with Tarzan swing, leaf steppers, multi-play equipment and a kick-about space. The park features established trees and also has a shaded picnic shelter, drinking fountain and park benches.
