Barangaroo Sustainability Report

About this report The purpose of this report is to communicate our progress against our Climate Positive Benchmarks as part of our commitment to the C40 Climate Positive Development Program, and to the NSW State Government through Infrastructure NSW. This report is delivered online in downloadable format. Pages 5 – 19 provide the project background and are delivered consistently in all reports for the precinct. They illuminate the project’s history, give the reader context and situate our story strongly in the place that is Barangaroo South. The case studies and progress reports from pages 20 – 67 detail our progress for the year 2020-2021. These are updated to reflect the work of Lendlease and the community at Barangaroo. The Sustainability Report allows Lendlease to document and celebrate our numerous achievements while providing clear evidence to our partners at Infrastructure NSW and the wider community of the considerable sustainability and social progress being made across the precinct by us and our partners. Barangaroo South is our opportunity to make a difference by creating a place for workers, residents and visitors that we are truly proud of now and in the future. The challenges of the future may be very different to those of today, so we are creating a place that is vibrant, resilient, and economically and socially sustainable. We can proudly say we have achieved this and now look to exceed our aspirations through our action on climate initiatives, use of resources and materials and our social focus on community inclusion, First Nations engagement and wellbeing. Barangaroo is a place for everyone, and our approach to sustainability is core to our DNA.
