ES Summer 2022

Christmas is just around the corner, as we welcome new residents to the neighbourhood, celebrate the year that was and look forward to a rolling calendar of community events in 2023. In this summer newsletter, we showcase the ACES recent spooktacular Halloween party, where the community came dressed in their spookiest costume. See if you can spot your family in the photo spread. We meet the masterminds of the Apple Tree Learning Hub at Elliot Springs, Erin, Raz and Amy, who are creating new educational opportunities for local students. There’s some big construction milestones in the works, with a new display village opening in 2023, work progressing on the water reservoir, as well as hard courts being constructed in 2023. You will have noticed construction works occurring on the entry to Elliot Springs with the first parcel within our neighbourhood centre now under construction. Keep an eye out for further announcements on that soon. Congratulations to the five winners of the Festive Together offer for gift cards to help get your festive street get togethers happening. We look forward to seeing photos of street cricket and drive way gatherings! Hello, Elliot Springs! Elliot Springs Playgroups hosts a special R U OK? Day connection event The Wulguru State School & Elliot Springs Surrounds Playgroup hosted a free R U OK? Day community event for local families, where children enjoyed interactive fun, while parents connected and took advantage of some ‘me time’. Townsville Soft Play came along with an interactive set up, alongside activities and refreshments for parents to take the time to check in on themselves and others. R U OK? Day is an annual day of mental health awareness, to encourage us all to check in on each other and recognising that a conversation could change a life. Local parents took a break, connected with fellow families and took the time to check-in on one another at a special R U OK? Day playgroup event. ACES and Wesleyan are joining forces to bring the community a festive Christmas in the Park event
