Hello Neighbour, Halloween is Saturday 31 October and there are sure to be some spooky trick or treaters in the ‘hood'. If you wish to participate attach a spooky drawing or decoration to your letterbox so your neighbours know you’re a Halloween-friendly neighbour! Some tips to keep COVID Safe: •Stay physically distanced and wash your hands, claws, tentacles and so on, frequently and well •Consider individually packaged treats for trick-or-treaters, ensure you wash your hands well before preparing treats and in between handing them out, as well as using hand sanitiser •You could even leave hand sanitiser out for other trick-or- treaters to stay COVID Safe too! As always, remember: •Be accompanied by a grown-up monster at all times (or another responsible witch, ghost or vampire) •Watch out for cars reversing out of driveways and walk, not run, between houses •Consider joining your friends (socially distanced) on your neighbourhood adventure – there is safety in numbers •Never enter a stranger’s house, even if they have invited you in after knocking on their door Don’t forget to share your spooky selfies on our community Facebook page www.facebook.com/myyarrabilba Welcome What an interesting transition to spring it has been. With so many of us spending more time in the outdoors lately, it has been heart-warming to see Yarrabilba residents back out and about in the parks and walking trails. We are very excited to showcase just some of the Yarrabilba sporting clubs who are getting back into the game, we hope you will sign up as even more of these activities start to be announced. We have also recently been able to move The Exchange into larger premises at Darrau Avenue after COVID-19 put earlier plans on hold for quite some time. You will now start to see further service delivery in skilling and enterprise which complements the existing jobs placement services that Diana and the Access Community Services team have so expertly provided for our community. Finally, Lendlease recently launched ambitious new social and environmental targets with the promise to deliver $250 million of social value and net zero carbon by 2025. Find out more www.lendlease.com/company/sustainability/our-targets/ One initiative that helps us towards this goal is our regular Community Enterprise Foundation grant rounds. We are excited to announce a much larger $45,000 funding pool in this round. Grants up to $3,000 are available for programs, initiatives or events that benefit the Yarrabilba community through improving social, environmental or economic outcomes. We look forward to seeing lots of very creative ideas! Terry Hamilton Social Sustainability Manager terry.hamilton@lendlease.com YARRABILBA COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM
