Yarrabilba Winter News 2020

The Yarrabilba Community Garden has been busy with working bees lately, although these are temporarily on hold – so watch their Facebook page for details of future dates www.facebook.com/YarrabilbaGarden/ This community garden, which is supported by the Yarrabilba Community Association Inc, is located on the corner of Darlington Drive and Shaw Street. Yarrabilba Community Garden The Fathering Project is a secular, not-for-profit, research-based organisation with a vision to ensure all children have an effective father or father figure in their lives. We run a schools program that facilitates positive engagement between dads and kids designed to improve outcomes and connectedness for our children, families and school communities. Thanks to Lendlease and other financial contributors, The Fathering Project has now launched in Queensland schools! We currently have 39 registered schools with the majority in the Greater Brisbane region. Lendlease has sponsored the establishment of groups in the Yarrabilba community with both Yarrabilba State School and St Clare’s Catholic Kindergarten about to launch their groups. Both of these educational institutions are excited to be launching their Dads Groups in Term 3, 2020 and connecting with fathers and father figures in their school communities. If you are a father or father figure that is interested in this great new program, please contact Yarrabilba State School or St Clare’s Catholic Kindergarten for more information on these launches. Bring the family! We hope to see you there! If you have relatively weed-free clippings, send them a message on Facebook and you can arrange to drop them off at the garden. They will be put to good use!
