A Climate Active Carbon Neutral in Operations Certified Precinct Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges facing our world today. Creating systemic change that averts climate catastrophe and unlocks the potential of sustainable growth is in everyone’s interest. In 2020, Lendlease announced new, industry-leading targets around carbon emissions and the energy we use, launching our Mission Zero pathway to achieving them. Barangaroo is the first mixed-use precinct in Australia to be certified Carbon Neutral under the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard for precincts in operations for Scope 1,2 & 3 emissions as outlined in the precincts emissions certification boundary and has maintained its carbon neutral status since. For the fourth consecutive year, Barangaroo has been awarded Carbon Neutral certification by Climate Active. In 2021, Barangaroo’s Climate Active Certification boundary was expanded to include Crown Sydney Resort, which includes all restaurants, the hotel, residential apartments, and the casino. The result of a collaborative effort between the NSW Government, Lendlease, Crown Sydney, and other stakeholders, Barangaroo Carbon Neutral certification reinforces its status as a world-class example of sustainability and climate positive design.
