Data-Driven Emission Reductions Data analytics enhance Barangaroo South’s performance. All commercial buildings within Barangaroo South have increased energy and water efficiency as a result of a complete roll out of CiM, SaaS building analytics platform which harnesses building analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to deliver immediate insights into a building’s operational performance, improving efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. This follows a successful 6-month trial on International Tower 1 during FY21, which confirmed the benefits of data driven solutions to achieve energy and water efficiencies. Electricity Reigns The electrification of heating for Barangaroo South’s retail spaces is helping us to align on our fossil fuel reducing targets. Visitors to the waterfront retail tenancies commonly known as the Anadara and Alexander buildings (R8 & R9) can stay warm in good conscience thanks to the successful completion of electrification for the majority of covered outdoor retail heating units. This initiative aligns seamlessly with our commitment to reducing reliance on fossil fuels throughout the precinct. Furthermore, the electrification initiative has unveiled a new dimension of data capture and reporting. Through the installation of meters on the heaters, we have unlocked the ability to gather precise data in real- time. This invaluable data not only empowers us to monitor and manage energy consumption effectively but also bolsters our capacity to adapt and optimise our heating strategies based on actual usage patterns. Our efforts extend beyond the waterfront retail tenancies above as we proactively explore solutions for the electrification of outdoor cooking facilities and outdoor heating systems in retail spaces, across the precinct.
