Enriching Culture and Community One Sydney Harbour and Gujaga Foundation Deepen Shared Value Partnership In late 2023, One Sydney Harbour launched a new Shared Value Partnership with Gujaga Foundation, aimed at enriching and sustaining Dharawal Language within the La Perouse Aboriginal community. The Gujaga Foundation aims to instil a strong sense of cultural identity and belonging in the children and young people of the La Perouse Aboriginal community. A core pillar of this purpose is for children and young people to have access to Dharawal language education. However, in order for this Dharawal language education to be reinforced at home, their parents and relatives must also be given access to language education. The partnership will assist Gujaga Foundation to deliver a community language program that continues to revitalise the Dharawal language through reclamation activities. A Continuation of Shared Values This new venture builds upon a foundation of collaboration between the La Perouse Community and Lendlease that dates back to 2018. Past projects have included the creation of a medicine garden, hosting NAIDOC events, skilling and employment opportunities, and upgrades to community facilities.
