Sustainability Report 2020–21 Barangaroo South SHAPING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE  1 3 08 Mission Zero At Lendlease, our carbon targets aim to help avoid the worst impacts of climate change by playing our part in efforts to limit global warming to 1.5°C. We’ve made it our mission to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2025 (Scopes 1 & 2) and Absolute Zero Carbon by 2040 (Scopes 1, 2 & 3), within the Lendlease defined boundaries and without the use of offsets. Net Zero Carbon by 2025 We’ll reduce Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions as far as possible, with the remainder offset in an approved carbon offset scheme. Absolute Zero Carbon by 2040 We’re targeting no greenhouse gas emissions from fuels, electricity, building materials or tenants. Our Absolute Zero Carbon target applies to Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, within the Lendlease defined boundaries, without the use of offsets. We’re turning commitments into action. In 2023, we published our first Mission Zero Progress Report for the Australia region. Creating Social Value Since launching our social value target in 2020 and as of June 2023, Lendlease has created more than $186m of social value through the work of our shared value partnerships, supported by Lendlease Foundation. We are well on track to achieve our target of $250m by 2025. Our ‘shared value’ partnerships focus on creating measurable social value by addressing the needs of communities. Together, these ambitious targets seek to create a better planet for all, environmentally and socially. Watch an Introduction to Mission Zero here
