When compared to Sydney's CBD which is predominately a commercial landscape, Melbourne's CBD is becoming a place to live, work and enjoy the range of local and walkable amenity, world class restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. Melbourne CBD is anticipated to see an additional 14,000 new dwellings by 2031, supporting its growing population. POPULATION Victoria is anticipated to see steady growth in population, despite the effects of the Covid-19 global pandemic. Melbourne CBD's population is forecast to increase 2.3% annually between 2021 and 2031. This is greater than the rest of Melbourne; 1.8% over the same period.
