Starting out in the entertainment industry at the
age of 16, Lynne Wright worked on countless
productions with respected theatre groups for
five decades. From touring Australia on large
productions to working with Queensland Theatre
Company and La Boite Theatre Company, Lynne
has an impressive resume.
“I’ve been really lucky because I’ve had huge
opportunities, travelling around, visiting cities,
seeing the country. It’s amazing,” she says.
Lynne’s favourite role to play was the Mother
Superior in
Nunsense
, and she can’t escape that
feeling she gets every time she witnesses
Jesus Christ Superstar
.
But it’s her compassion for others and celebration
A love of people
From directing stage plays with casts
of 70 people to being a shoulder to lean
on within Forest Lake’s The Terraces
retirement community, Lynne Wright has
been a nurturing and guiding figure to
thousands of people throughout her life.
“IT’S AN ACQUISITION OF MATURING,” SAYS
LYNNE. “NOTHING IS A DRAMA ANYMORE.”

Lynne’s true calling.
“I found [the entertainment industry]
overwhelming and a lot of the people I worked
with were intensely self-focused,” she says.
“It was a difficult transition to make,” Lynne
adds. “What I was looking for was that intense
friendship and close proximity.”
It seems that everyone who has worked or lived
with Lynne over the years would be grateful for
her caring and compassionate nature. She lives by
the adage that everyone has a story to tell;
you just have to take the time to listen.
Her love for people means Lynne sees the best in
everyone she comes across. “There is always
a goodness in people that rarely disappears,” she
says. “Sometimes they need the opportunity to
