Alkimos Voice Winter 2020

Welcome Welcome to the Winter edition of the “Alkimos Voice” community newsletter We’re looking forward to catching up with you in person at one of our Meet Your Neighbour events when it’s safe to do so. In the meantime, we’ve put together this newsletter, full of stories and updates about what’s been happening in Alkimos Beach and Alkimos Vista. We continue to remain impressed and proud of the way our local community continues to come together during times of need. Firstly, with the support during the summer bushfire season and now responding during COVID-19. It has been a difficult start to the year across the country but seeing so many residents, groups and businesses united wanting to help in anyway is inspiring. On the development front, we have finished construction of Stage 10a in Alkimos Beach and anticipating titles for Stage 3 in Alkimos Vista towards the later parts of this year. The City of Wanneroo has now completed the Marmion Avenue duplication works and development of the new Sports Amenities building at Leatherback Oval is well underway. Everyone’s patience and understanding has been greatly appreciated during these works. A massive thanks to the Alkimos Surf Life Saving Club for another summer well done. The new board has done a great job delivering weekend programs, another successful surf carnival and expanding the Sunday beach patrol hours. We can’t wait to see you back next summer. We also welcome back our Winter Sport teams ready for a new season after being delayed during the restrictions.
