Local in profile Meet Meryl Bloomfield For Townsville local Meryl, it has been the relationships and connections formed with our Elliot Springs residents that have confirmed her love for North Queensland, having planted solid roots in our region for her family. Home is where the heart is and Townsville has offered Meryl the perfect ingredients for building her life, family and future in the area. Since the first sod was turned in Elliot Springs in 2017, Meryl has seen its rapid growth, and the transformation into the vibrant community it is today. “Townsville is home and I love everything about living here. I’ve been part of the Elliot Springs family since the very beginning and witnessed the amazing growth of the community over the past four years.” “I remember taking clients to view the lots in 4WDs during construction of our first stages. It has since become a thriving community where everyone looks out for one another. Townsville offers an amazing lifestyle, Winter and Spring being my favourite seasons to get outdoors, go for a walk and explore the area. Elliot Springs is a fantastic place to call home. It’s location on the south side of Townsville, and being surrounded by mountains, scenic views and natural bushland make it a huge drawcard.” Wadda Mooli Park is a wonderful outdoor area and really popular for families to have picnics, let the kids explore, or enjoy catching up with friends. From the park you can access Bindal Ridge, which is an amazing conservation zone for hiking. There’s also mountain bike trails to explore and an off-leash dog park.” When Meryl isn’t working in the Elliot Springs sales office, she enjoys exercising, being out and about and socialising with friends and family. “Elliot Springs is so lush and surrounded by nature. You feel like you are in the country, but really just a short drive to the shops.” Meryl previously worked as a sales consultant at both Riverside Gardens and Willow Gardens Developments from 2000-2007 before taking on the role of sales consultant in Elliot Springs in 2017. “Having spent my whole life in Townsville is a bonus in my role. I am able to share my local knowledge with new arrivals, advising where to find the best walking tracks, parks and amenities.
