Elliot Springs Voice Winter 2020

You’ve probably noticed that Elliot Springs has been buzzing with activity recently. It’s fantastic to see so many homes underway with 15 homes now under construction, in addition to the 56 homes already completed. Over the last few months we’ve also had a number of settlements take place with more homes due to start construction soon. We are looking forward to welcoming our ever growing resident community. On the development front, the 13km sewer line to Cleveland Bay Waste Water Treatment Plant was completed at the end of June, with only two sections of underboring to be completed. Works will soon commence on the second pump station, which is forecast to be completed by October 2020. The project team is busy releasing new stages in Whites Creek and is gearing up for construction to commence in late July. If you’re interested in knowing more about Whites Creek, pop in and say hi to Meryl and Anna. Lastly, if you’ve noticed recent signage about Yellow Crazy Ants please note that the new signage is for notification to residents and for information only. • Elliot Springs has been treated for Yellow Crazy Ants over a three year period; • Since treatment no Yellow Crazy Ants have been found on Elliot Springs land; • A recent survey of the area found Yellow Crazy Ants in an area south of Elliot Springs and this area is be- ing treated; and • All Elliot Springs contractors follow a Yellow Crazy Ants Management Plan. We encourage residents to report any possible sightings to the Townsville Yellow Crazy Ant Community Taskforce.
