The group plan to work with local community groups to offer food and beverage choices as well as activities for the kids. Date and time to be announced - watch this space. Springfield Police Division Neighbourhood Watch Anti-theft number plate screws The newly formed Springfield Division Neighbourhood Watch Group will use the funding to support the purchase of anti-theft number plate screws for residents. This forms part of a broader education piece on vehicle theft and opportunistic crime. Residents will be able to visit local pop-up locations where they can get their registration plate screws changed for free. Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School Sensory Labyrinth In response to COVID-19, the school will establish a sensory labyrinth – a place where students, teachers, staff and the wider community can take a break from schooling and focus on their mental wellbeing. The completely sensory project will include locally sourced and sustainable material and native vegetation, as well as the perspectives of First Nations people. Springfield Lakes State School Parents & Citizens Association Parent and young girls information evening and P&C professional development The grant will enable the school to hold a presentation for young girls and their parents about how to thrive in high school featuring writer and speaker, Rebecca Sparrow. Part of the funding will also allow the P&C committee members to attend a state professional development conference. Guides Queensland Sustainable Guiding within Springfield Guides Queensland will use the grant to provide four new Springfield volunteer leaders with training and ongoing development opportunities to equip them with the skills and required knowledge to deliver programs. Get your group involved! Administered by Bendigo Bank’s Community Enterprise Foundation, the program has provided close to $90,000 in funding to 24 different local initiatives since its inception in 2016. The focus of the Community Grants Program is to fund initiatives or events that benefit the community of Springfield Rise and surrounding areas through improving social, environmental and economic outcomes. Our next round of grants will open later this year so keep an eye out!
