Yarrabilba Newsletter Spring 2021 | Lendlease Communities

Dust off your running shoes and get ready for the Yarrabilba 2021 Relay for Life event! An exciting first for our community, Relay for Life is a fun and moving experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, information and support services. Relay is a chance for the Yarrabilba community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives. A group of local teachers competing as Team Guess have already raised more than $4600 for the Cancer Council, inspired by local families and staff members affected by cancer. Team captain, Kathy Curie-Dauth said team members had been competing in the annual Relay for Life since 2009. “Everyone in our team knows someone who has been affected by cancer. We originally formed a team as someone in our school community was diagnosed with cancer. Now we continue each year to raise vital funds for the Cancer Council,” she said. “Our team originally formed in 2010 are very passionate about raising money for the Cancer Council and the vital support they provide for families and people with cancer. We are so excited to have this year’s event in Yarrabilba.” The Yarrabilba Relay for Life 2021 will take place at San Damiano College, Yarrabilba on Saturday, 23 October, 2pm-9pm.
