Coastal Waters celebrates its heritage by planting
camellias cultivated from the original flowers planted on
Erowal Farm more than 150 years ago.
Resident historian Rex Elliott was inspired by the history of the site resulting
in the writing of his book,
‘History of the First Land Grant – Erowal Farm.’
Convicts built the farmhouse on Erowal Farm for Captain John Lamb in 1830.
The foundations of the original homestead are preserved in the heritage garden.
With expert assistance, plants were propagated from the 150-year-old
camellias and planted at the front of the farm’s original homestead.
