Annesley Bowral resident, Margaret Rosenthal, is the Chairman of the Board at the
Southern Highlands Community Hospice, a not-for-profit charity with the goal of establishing
a community-based palliative care facility in the NSW Southern Highlands.
THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE HOSPICE PROJECT IS
“to build a purpose-built community hospice that
will deliver specialist palliative care to people in our district
regardless of their ability to pay.”
Many residents of Annesley Bowral are strong supporters of the
community initiative to build the 10 bed Hospice.
They donate all kinds of pre-loved men’s and women’s clothing, household
goods, bric-a-brac and furniture to the five Hospice shops in the area.
These shops raise a very significant sum of money for the Hospice Project each year.
A number of residents also volunteer for the Project and use
their skills for this worthwhile cause.
