Reconciliation Action Plan - page 2

A celebration is beginning, preparations are in place. People travel from far and wide to
gather for ceremony. Knowledge and wisdom are exchanged. This is a special place, a
sacred place. A place where people are heard and leaders are born. Coming together,
community is formed and culture is built.
The Lendlease Reconciliation artwork represents leadership and development. The
background lines and circles represent a map or ‘blueprint’ of country and land, places
that have great significance and meaning. Lendlease was a leader in establishing the
first urban environments, creating new spaces that brought life and work together. The
central circle is a reflection of one of the first iconic spaces, Australia Square, the nation’s
tallest circular building which changed the face of a city.
It also represents Lendlease and its many different businesses within the one family.
The ‘U’ shaped symbols represent leaders seated discussing and negotiating business
with outside parties and connecting them into the Lendlease culture. Dick Dusseldorp,
the founder of Lendlease, connected different interest groups of people to work
together for exceptional outcomes. The circles on either side represent communities
and organisations working with Lendlease - establishing respectful relationships,
lasting partnerships and opportunities for everyone in our communities.

SPIRIT OF PLACE
THE LENDLEASE RECONCILIATION ARTWORK
At Lendlease, we work with communities, clients and our colleagues to create
positive legacies from funding a project right through to developing and constructing
state of the art buildings and infrastructure, including hospitals, roads and bridges.
We also create vibrant residential communities, productive workplaces and retail
destinations. Founded in Sydney in 1958, Lendlease primarily operates in four regions -
Australia, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, across 12 countries with approximately
12,000 employees and of these, 7,200 work in the Australian businesses.
A 2015 snapshot of 50 construction and infrastructure projects (about 20% of all live
projects in Australia at that time), showed 2.24% or 56 of 2,504 employees identified
as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. Of the workers employed through sub-
contractors 3.16% or 341 of the 10,800 person workforce identified as Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander.
