Reconciliation Action Plan - page 10

Our first RAP taught us important lessons that have
informed this next iteration. We have developed this
RAP acknowledging that Lendlease is an operationally-
focused business – decisions about training, employment
and procurement (and the relationships that supply them)
are made in the business, at a project and asset level.
We have taken the time to develop this RAP over the
course of a year and we have had many conversations:
with our senior business leaders, Reconciliation
Australia, our RAP Advisory Panel, and our RAP partner
organisations about what an Elevate RAP should look
like.
The RAP Executive Lead also heard valuable feedback
from Lendlease’s businesses and projects who almost
uniformly share the same view: the RAP goals must be
simple, deliverable, achievable, tracked and reported;
and we must be transparent and open about what works
and what doesn’t.
Every business will take a different approach to RAP
activity that aligns with their strategy and objectives. This
alignment will make the RAP and its outcomes sustainable.
Our businesses will incorporate these goals into
business plans and address other requirements
including:
• Reconciliation Australia’s minimum requirements
of Relationships, Respect and Opportunities
framework for an Elevate RAP
• Contractual requirements to meet 3% Federal
Government procurement targets and participation
targets set by States and Territories
• International Human Rights frameworks including
Global Compact and the UN Declaration on the
Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
Progress against the goals will be reported by each
business in quarterly business reporting and rolled up
annually for reporting to Reconciliation Australia’s RAP
Impact Measurement Survey, the Business Council
of Australia’s Indigenous Engagement Survey, and
Lendlease’s annual reporting to Securityholders.
OUR THREE GOALS FOR THIS RAP: 2016-2018
All Lendlease employees will receive
cultural awareness and engagement
learning opportunities.
Each business will increase the number
of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
people directly employed by Lendlease.
Each business will increase procurement
activity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander businesses.
