VIEWBANK GARDENS
John Gibbins and the residents of Viewbank Gardens make
every effort to recycle what they can at the village.
HERE ARE SOME OF JOHN ’ S RECYCL ING T I PS :
Computers and TVs are ideal
for recycling due to their large volumes,
inclusion of hazardous materials,
and good resource recovery potential
for non-renewable resources
like tin, nickel, zinc and copper.
Battery recycling allows the
non-renewable resources in batteries
to be recovered. It removes toxic and
hazardous substances from landfill that
may contaminate groundwater.
Lithium metal batteries can also cause
explosions or fires if inappropriately
stored or disposed.
Printer cartridges can be
dropped off at Officeworks, JB Hi-Fi
and post offices. When printer cartridges
break apart in landfill, they have the
potential to contaminate groundwater
and the environment.
